15 years, 10 violins, 3 cellos. I’ve shopped at CK Violins for 15 years and have purchased or traded in approximately 13 violins and cellos. Each time my daughters (I have 5) outgrew their instruments, I knew I could count on CK Violin to help us find a bigger, better sounding instrument. Nicholas, the owner is never intimidating and always makes time and treats you as his most important customer no matter how large or small your purchase. He never charges extra for bows or cases and even throws in freebies like stands, donuts, and rosins. He even replaced broken bows at no charge. If you need repairs done on your instrument, just give him a call and schedule a time and he’ll try to have it fixed quickly while you wait. He has also provided repair at no charge for all our instruments over the years. I’ve also shopped at another violin shop and have purchased a couple of violins from them, but the service is not the same. One suggestion is always take your child’s teacher along to help you find the best sounding instrument within your price range. CK Violin has an excellent rapport with many string teachers on the island. In our case, our teachers called ahead to let Nicholas know what they’re looking for in regards to quality, price, and size; and each time he picked out a range of instruments for our teacher and my child to try out at our convenience. You can’t ask for better service anywhere else.
